Professional engineer with 20 years experience in process engineering, project management, and corporate leadership focused on strategy development and growth. Roles have included lead process engineer, process supervision of process engineering department (15 people), project engineering and supervision (10 people), senior project management and project management supervision (35 people), operations manager and VP Operations (max of 270 people), and Director of Upstream Oil and Gas Division.
Process experience in the oil and gas industry includes on-site facility engineering, computer aided process design, troubleshooting, detailed process studies, facility optimization, detail design and commissioning/start up.
Project knowledge includes several small to large scale projects with scope ranging from gas processing/conventional oil to SAGD. These include managing F.E.E.D./feasibility studies, planning, scope development, due diligence evaluations, drawings/document development, procurement, permitting with regulatory bodies, change management and all coordinating functions of detail design. All engineering work includes various projects with sour and sweet processing systems, both SAGD and conventional oil/gas.
Project managerial experience has been attained through several projects with a wide range of scope for SAGD and sour and sweet oil/gas systems. Specific project management responsibilities have included cost estimating, scheduling, scope management, manpower loading/coordination and project control to ensure the project meets quality standards, meets HSE targets, is on schedule, within scope, and on budget.
Leadership/Supervision roles have been at heart of experience in last 15 years, with a strong track record in developing and growing qualified teams to execute work/projects. The size of teams has varied. As late, have demonstrated a strong leadership presence in the growth of Caltech Senex as the VP of Projects and Engineering with a team of 130 people, and the VP Operations with Stantec thereafter where the team grew to 270 people over a course of 3 years.
While responsible for managing, directing and growing the operations, had a significant part in growing the business with strong client development and relationship skills.
